Information about the trekking in Val San Nicolò

The hiking in Val San Nicolò starts from the village of Pozza di Fassa, in Meida, right in front of Camping Vidor.

Following thre forest track that skirts the river the hikers will reach chalet Malga Crocifisso (1’522 meters) from where they will keep going up through the forest track 608 (paved in some stretches) passing under the Maerins and under the historical climbing walls of valley Val San Nicolò and they will reach chalet Baita Ciampiè.

From there, still through the same forest track, the path keeps going among the pastures of valley Val San Nicolò with their many historical farmsteads until it gets to the final amphitheater that features some really beautiful waterfalls and streams.

There is where chalet Baita Le Cascate (2’011 meters), our final destination is. There it is possible to eat very good typical dishes, have a a picnic on the green underlying meadows, build small dams in the streams or simply enjoy the amazing view on the Mount Catinaccio Range.

From there, the descent takes place through the climb route.
