Information about the trekking to Torri del Vajolet

The trekking to Torri del Vajolet and Rifugio Re Alberto starts at the bottom station of the Pera di Fassa cable car (large free parking lot). From there the mountain guide will drive them to Rifugio Gardeccia (1’949 meters). This is a unique environment, among flowering meadows, very scented Swiss pines and majestic walls of Dolomia, the renowned rock of the Dolomites.

From Rifugio Gardeccia the path follows trail number 546 that goes up towards Rifugio Vajolet (2’243 meters) passing under the east side of the main peak of Mount Catinaccio and under Mount Punta Emma. Once it reaches the rifugio the path turns left and it enters trail number 542. Now the climb gets steeper and technical in some stretches, specially through the couloir that leads to Rifugio Re Alberto (King Albert Refuge), at an elevation of 2’621 meters. The hikers will now be under the Towers of Mount Vajolet, amazing pinnacles that are the symbol of valley Val di Fassa; every year these pinnacles attract a lot of climbers from all over the world.

The descent takes place through the climb route.
