Trekking to Antermoia and Val Duron

One of the most beautiful trekking excursions of the Dolomites, in the heart of the Mount Catinaccio Range; it crosses passes and cols always in wild and immaculate environments until it reaches alpine lake Lago d’Antermoia, hidden gem by the namesake Rifugio.

Information about the trekking to Antermoia and Val Duron

The traverse to Antermoia and Val Duron starts at the bottom station of the cable car in Pera di Fassa. From there the mountain guide will drive them to Rifugio Gardeccia (1’949 meters) from where, through trail number 546, they will reach Rifugio Vajolet (2’243 meters).

The path goes up on the wide overhead valley and, through trail number 584, it gets to Passo Principe (2’600 meters) and to the namesake rifugio, located under Mount Catinaccio d’Antermoia (3’004 meters), the highest peak in the Mount Catinaccio Range.

On trail number 548 the hikers will reach Passo Antermoia (2’770 meters). From the pass the path goes down to the glacial valley and to lake Lago Antermoia. Passing the namesake rifugio (2’497 meters) the hikers will go up a little on trail number 580 and they will get to Passo di Dona (2’516 meters). Going down under Mount Sasso di Dona the path goes all the way to Passo delle Ciaregoles (2’279 meters).

From there -through trail number 578- the hikers will go down to valley Val Duron and then, going through the whole valley heading east on trail number 532, they will reach the village of Campitello di Fassa. From Campitello a bus will take the hikers back to Pera.
