Information about the Don Quixote climbing route

The Don Quixote climbing route was opened on June 26th 1979 by Ettore Castiglioni and Reinhard Schiestl (the latter, a few years later did it again, alone and with no rope, reaching the ridge in just a little longer than one hour and twenty minutes).

The rock is good on the whole path and it guarantees safe climb that, never the less, must be faced with a good physical conditions. The climbing route is adequately equipped in its most demanding stretches. The itinerary of the climb, made of a 23 lengths, has a duration of about 10 hours, while 2 the approach takes hours and it rates VI maximum difficulty. The descent features two rappels and it offers, then, several possible itineraries.
