Mountain Guide - Fassa Guide

My name is Patrick Carminati and I was born in Bergamo in 1982. I started going to the mountains with friends about twenty years old, living real adventures that led us to understand that the mountains can be a real school of life, where you don't have to improvise but rather be prepared and aware of the activity we are doing and where we are doing it.

I grew up mountaineering in the central Alps, a step away from the high-altitude peaks of the Aosta Valley and a step away from the Dolomites where I still live in Val di Fassa since 2020. I chose this profession because it allows me to live my passion at 360 degrees all year round and to review and relive in the eyes of my customers the same joy and enthusiasm that I experienced when I started attending this world.

My passion for the mountains has led me to gain experiences throughout the Alps and not only.. with pleasure I remember:

In the Western Alps:

  • the crossing of the Grandes Jorasses
  • the Arete of Diable
  • The Kufner crest
  • The Arete of Bionassay
  • The Red pillar of the Bruillard, via Bonatti-Oggioni
  • the North face of the Cervino, via Schmid
  • the Rey crest on Mount Rosa

In the Central Alps:

  • Badile lace, for Cassin, Ringo Star, Another day in Paradise streets
  • Bernina for the Biancograt ridge
  • Piz Palù, for the kuffner and Bumiller crests

In the Eastern Alps:

  • Trieste tower, via Cassin
  • Cima Scotoni, via degli Scoiattoli
  • Torre Jolanda, via Costantini
  • Crozzon di Brenta, via delle Guide

There were also many steep skiing descents where I remember with pleasure from the top of the Tour Ronde to the Brenva glacier to Courmayeur. Among my great passions is definitely ice and mixed climbing, which in the early years of my activity saw me climb many new routes, with friends and with clients who have since become friends and with whom I climb often to this day.

The mountain is a friend with whom you can't cheat, because it knows how to lay you bare and read you inside, where every goal must be sweated over but which then knows how to reward you adequately.
