Luca Caronti

Born in Borgosesia in 1988
Mountain Guide - Fassa Guide

My name is Luca Caronti, and I am an aspirant mountain guide. I was born in 1998 in Borgosesia and moved to Selva di Cadore at the age of two, where I grew up immersed in the beauty of the Dolomites.

Thanks to my father, that is a mountain guide, I started exploring the mountains from a very young age. As a child, I took part in alpine skiing competitions, before also developing a passion for freeride skiing and rock climbing. Over time, I broadened my experiences by venturing into other mountaineering sports, such as ice climbing and high-altitude routes.

Alongside my passion for the mountains, I obtained a master’s degree in computer engineering. Although this is a very different field, it has given me an analytical and methodical mindset, which I also apply to guiding and teaching mountaineering activities. By combining my background as an athlete with my mountain experience, I hope to share my passion and expertise with anyone who relies on me to enjoy unique experiences in the mountains. I have been living in the stunning Val di Fassa for three years, and in 2024, I finally completed the long training process that, over two years, led me to become an aspiring mountain guide.

My mountaineering experiences are varied, especially on rock, which is my preferred environment. Among my main ascents are:

  • Civetta Group: Philipp-Flamm (at 18 years old), Carlesso and Cassin on Torre Trieste, Tayaux de Poele on Pan di Zucchero.
  • Marmolada: Tempi Moderni, Vinatzer-Messner, Viva Gorbi.
  • Pale di San Martino: Magia Nera, Gigi la Trottola.
  • Other: Casarotto-Radin dihedral, KCF, Cassin on the West Face of Lavaredo.

I have skied many challenging slopes and climbed dozens of 4000-meter peaks throughout the Alps. I look forward to tackling even more of them as a guide, continuing to share my passion for the mountains with anyone who wants to discover this fascinating world.
