This intense and exciting climbing route was open by G.B. Rezzara and Ferdinand Glück on August 7th 1935.

The Via dei Pilastrini climbing route to Prima Torre del Sella (First Tower of Sella) is an extremely rewarding itinerary starting from an elevation of 2244 meters and leading to an elevation of 2533 meters. An evocative climb that covers a 114 meter elevation gain with a development of 140 meters. The difficulties of the path swing between IV° and V° and the ascent -facing west- develops through six lengths.

The descent, that can be done in about 45 minutes, takes place through the Via Normale. A nice trail, then, leads to the col that divides Mount Prima Torre from Mount Seconda Torre and it goes down towards the valley. Some stretches must be done with climbing descent (never more than II°). Just before the foot of the mountain side the climbers can do a rappel or climb downhill (II°). The trail, then, leads to the starting point.
