The Sass Rigais via ferrata in the Puez-Odle Group offers a very beautiful itinerary that leads to a marvelous peak that, together with Mount Gran Furcheta, is the highest summit in the Odle Range. A very scenic and rewarding path that does not feature notable technical issues. From the summit the hikers can enjoy a spectacular view on the entire Puez-Odle Range and on Mount Sassolungo.
The path reaches the summit of Mount Sass Rigais with a long and super fun climb within a marvelous and evocative environment. The Sass Rigais via ferrata in the Puez-Odle Group covers a 500 meters elevation gain (900 meters for the hole excursion). With no particular technical issues, the path features steady rock with good handholds and it guarantees a safe and fun progression.
The Sass Rigais via ferrata is equipped with metal wire and rungs and with a sequence of metal brackets in the smoothest stretch.
The excursion starts from Selva di Val Gardena; with the cable car the hikers reach Rifugio Col Raiser, at an elevation of 2107 meters. After crossing the green alpine pastures right below Mount Grande Fermeda we reach Pian Ciantier, at an elevation of 2332 meters, and we keep climbing towards col Forcella de Mesdì and the attack of the via ferrata. The descent takes place through the climb route or through the north side crossing the mountain completely.
