The via Ferrata Roda di Vaèl owes its reputation mostly to the marvelous panoramic view on the surrounding dolomite peaks and on the valley; the technical issues are bearable and the equipment is absolutely efficient. This itinerary is perfect for those who want to start exploring the via ferratas.

The via Ferrata Roda di Vaèl features a 230 meters elevation gain, the one of the whole excursion is 680 meters. The track is equipped with metal wires during its whole length; it develops on a rocky ground that is not too steep and it features safe steps.

The approach starts from Rifugio Paolina-Paolinahütte, at an elevation of 2125 meters, also reachable with the chair lift. Through a marvelous trail heading north we reach Passo Vajolon and the attack of the via ferrata. The descent takes place through the green south-east slope until Rifugio Roda di Vael-Rotwandhütte and then all the way to Rifugio Paolina through a wonderful trail.
