The Alleghesi via ferrata offers a thrilling alpine experience through one of the longest and most spectacular itineraries in the Dolomites.
The itinerary of Alleghesi via ferrata reaches the summit of Mount Civetta, at an elevation of 3220 meters, climbing up the east side of the mountain and the north ridge; a greatly rewarding path. From the summit the view is incredibly beautiful stretching on all the Alps.
The Alleghesi via ferrata to Mount Civetta is a long and demanding via ferrata that features a 900 meters elevation gain and calls for good training. Since its many not equipped stretches the hikers need to master the rudiments of climbing. Alleghesi via ferrata develops through a majestic and tough dolomite environment among impressive walls and couloirs.
The equipment is very sturdy and it features metal wires and brackets. The path features some little couloirs and passages on exposed ledges.
The excursion, featuring an overall elevation gain of 1700 meters, starts from Palafavera by Passo Staulanza. The approach develops with a very nice walk and it leads to Rifugio Coldai and to the attack of the via ferrata, right below Mount Torre di Coldai. The long way back from the summit takes place through steep and slippery sloped ledges that call for caution.
