The Catinaccio d'Antermoia via ferrata leads to the highest summit of the Catinaccio range (Rosengarten group). It climbs up the east side of the mountain (Kesselkogel, 3002 meters), within a spectacular and evocative environment with a fun and safe climb. A nice and highly rewarding itinerary that crosses spectacular ledges and offers incredible views on the main dolomite ranges and on the iced peaks of the Central and Eastern Alps.
The Catinaccio di Antermoia via ferrata offers a relatively easy but extremely rewarding itinerary. It does not feature technically demanding stretches and it alternates aerial transverse and rather sloped rock jumps. The Catinaccio di Antermoia via ferrata is equipped with a metal wire that guarantees optimal safety during the whole path. The Catinaccio di Antermoia via ferrata features a 400 meters elevation gain (1000 meters for the whole excursion).
The excursion starts from Rifugio Gardeccia that can be reached by bus from valley Val di Fassa. The approach follows a very beautiful and scenic path that heads straight to the side of Mount Catinaccio d'Antermoia (Kesselkogel) and to the attack of the via ferrata. The descent can take place either through the climb route or through the north-east side, the latter being rather exposed but optimally equipped.
