The Bruno Federspiel via ferrata in the Monzoni group is an equipped track that combines amazing views and evocative historical connotations on the "Great War".
This aerial and spectacular path develops on the peaks of the ridge of the Monzoni range; it allows to "breathe" the atmosphere of the high mountain war. On these summits, in fact, German and Austrian units of the Alpenkorps were stationed and in the first part of the path touching signs of their presence are still found: remains of shacks, bunkers and artillery posts.
The Bruno Federspiel via ferrata in the Monzoni group has the traits of an alpine path featuring many spectacular stretches on the ridge, constant exposure and several up-and-downs. The equipped stretches, anyway, are comfortably faceable; the equipment is mostly concentrated in the section between Mount Spiz de Tariciogn and Mount Punta Alochet.
All in all this loop path is long and demanding with an elevation gap of roughly 1300 meters. It starts from Malga Crocifisso and it goes up through Malga Monzoni that can be reached by car or walking. Climbing up through a nice trail the hikers will get to some really evocative pastures and they will reach Rifugio Valacia and the overhead col Forcela la Costela from where the Sentiero Federspiel starts. The descent starts on the trail that, through valley Val de Le Sele, leads to Rifugio Taramelli from where the hikers will reach the climb route.
