It is ideal also for poorly trained hikers and families. The circular trekking tour of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo starts 2320 meters above sea level at Rifugio Auronzo where trail #101 begins, leading to the Lavaredo pass, an extraordinary observation point over the overhanging majestic north faces of the Tre Cime:
- the Cima Piccola di Lavaredo (2857 meters),
- the Cima Grande di Lavaredo (2998 meters),
- the Cima Ovest di Lavaredo (2973 meters).
The Tre Cime di Lavaredo trekking itinerary continues along an easy trail towards Rifugio Locatelli at 2438 meters, another favorite observation point; there we enjoy a spectacular and unique view of the impressive rocky towers and the surrounding mountains. We take trail #105 from Rifugio Locatelli and reach the mountain lakes which are the spring of the Rienza creek, the Malga Lunga (Lange Alm) and a few exposed sections. Then we return to our starting point.
