Long and interesting climb along the majestic third spur of Tofana di Rozes, to the left of the Pilastro. The Alverà-Pompanin route itinerary climbs towards the summit for 700 meters on great rock in imposing surroundings. This is a very rewarding climb requiring good training.
The route was opened in 1946 by A. Alverà and U. Pompanin and is a great classic in the Dolomites, coveted by all climbers. It features a diverse and non-intuitive itinerary set among slabs, corners and cracks with a characteristic natural cave near the end, ideal spot for a well-earned stop to admire the Ampezzo basin and the Boite valley. The exit from the cave is spectacular, with an extremely exposed transition.
The climbing route, 700 meters long, unfolds in 17 lengths with an elevation gain of 550 meters. The climb rates V difficulty level. The descent follows a trail.
