It offers spectacular views on Marmolada, on the Sella and Sassolungo ranges and on the Pale di San Martino. The ski descend, technical and rewarding, gets pretty steep in some stretches.
The ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Ombrettola in the Marmolada - Cima Uomo Range starts from the Rifugio Flora Alpina parking lot (Passo San Pellegrino), at an elevation of 1849 meters. Climbing up through wide slopes and sparse woods, we pass Rifugio Fuciade and we keep climbing through a steep slope that leads to Valle di Tasca.
Climbing a further stretch, we enter the valley that, through steep stretches, brings to Forcella del Bachet, at an elevation of 2836 meters. Going through the final slope we reach Cima Ombrettola. The spectacular and demanding descent takes place through the climb route.
The ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Ombrettola features a 1100 meters elevation gain and loss. It requires good training and mastering of technical skills of ski mountaineering and is rated as BSA (Good Ski Mountaineer). Maximum incline is 40 degrees.
