The ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Bocche from Passo San Pellegrino features an exciting, technical and pretty demanding hike. It offers enchanting views and a thrilling descent, definitely steep in some stretches.
The excursion starts from Restaurant Malga Negritella (Passo San Pellegrino). Heading south through a stretch of the cross-country skiing track we reach Malga Campo d’Orso and we keep climbing through a steep and dense wood. As the declivity lessens a bit, we reach Camp de l’Ors, a nice plain from where we proceed crossing a last stretch of woods before entering the long coilour that climbs to Forcella Bocche, 2543 meters, squeezing between Cima Bocche and Cima Gronton. Heading east from the col we keep climbing through the summer trail and, through the very steep last stretch, we get to the top of Cima Bocche. The ski descent is thrilling and intense and it develops through the climb route.
The ski mountaineering excursion to Cima Bocche features a 1000 meters elevation gain and loss. It requires good training and mastering of technical skills of ski mountaineering and is rated as BS (Good Skier). Maximum incline is 35 degrees.
