On the north side of Col Margherita, skiers who like to venture out on fresh snow can test their style and technique by launching themselves in breathtaking descents in the Col Margherita Freeride Park, a unique controlled circuit of the Dolomites Superski.
Col Margherita Freeride Park is easily reached from the San Pellegrino Pass through the fast Col Margherita cable car. The initial part is a very steep and open slope that goes down slightly to the left and then connects to a very wide gully. Almost half of the descent is located outside the forest, and is therefore very fun for those who love wide turns in fresh snow. In the second part, where the slope fades and the wood begins, not very dense, you can choose between various solutions of descent.
The north face of the Col Margherita covers a considerable difference in altitude (about 600 meters) from the top of the relief (2514 meters) to the valley floor (1918 meters) and its position, facing north, guarantees excellent snow conditions for most of the winter season. The excursion requires good training and mastering of technical skiing skills because of its BS (Good Skier) rating. Maximum incline is 35 degrees.
