Information about the off-piste skiing to Bus de Tofana

The off-piste skiing excursion to Bus de Tofana starts from the parking lot of the Freccia del Cielo cable car which takes us up to Ra Valles; there we get on the chairlift to the Bus de Tofana. After a few off-piste warmup runs beneath the faces of the Tofana di Mezzo, we climb a slope on foot and with our skis on our backpack to a panoramic pass.

We continue our descent secured to the guide, along a fun and thrilling via ferrata reaching the great hole dividing the north and south sides. This huge natural window treats us to a magnificent view over the Dolomitic peaks that will stay with us as one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Dolomites.

The descent unfolds along a spectacular couloir coming down directly from the Bus. It starts out narrow, steep and technical, then it opens to an unforgettable run. At the end of the couloir the descent trail keeps going on wide and gentle slopes down to Rifugio Dibona. From the lodge we return to the center of Cortina on snowy trails and ski slopes down to the cable car station. The descent totals an elevation loss of almost 2000 meters.

The freeride ski excursion to Bus de Tofana includes an elevation gain of 1600 meters off-piste in addition to regular ski slope sections. It requires good training and mastering of skiing techniques because of its BS (Good Skier) rating. Maximum incline is 37 degrees.

What you need to know

Participants Anyone over the age of 16, with an adequate level of training and fitness, can participate in this experience.
Under 18 Minors under the age of 18, if unaccompanied, require a waiver of liability from the parent or guardian of the child, that must be given to the guide before the excursion begins.
Equipment Remember to bring the minimum required equipment for the activity. If you do not own the equipment let us know, we will provide it for you, if available or for hire.
Reservation The reservation for this experience is individual, with a dedicated mountain guide. It may be reserved for a number of participants no greater than the maximum number allowed.
Excursion price The price shown is for the excursion with the dedicated mountain guide and possible transfer using the guide's private vehicle. It is valid for individual reservations for a number of participants that does not exceed the maximum number allowed.
Skipass The excursion requires the skipass, which is not included in the price, and may be purchased at the ski-lift ticket offices in the departure area.
