Thrilling climb to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo along a modern itinerary climbing up the impressive and overhanging north face of the Cima Grande: an incredibly challenging climb unfolding on the yellow-black rock typical of the Dolomites, among walls, cracks, and roofs.
The ISO 2000 climbing route was opened in 1998 by K. Astner and K. Brugger. It is a modern route that cannot be considered as sport because of the distance in the spits and the need to supplement the lengths with pitons and quick friends. It features a technical itinerary unfolding in 15 lengths for 520 meters on typical Dolomitic yellow rock. The climb is greatly rewarding, with 7a+ level of difficulty. The descent is negotiated with double-rope rappels or descending on the Normal Route of the Cima Grande.
