Fun and nice climb along the south wall of the Torre Grande d'Averau in Cinque Torri, a true climber paradise. The itinerary climbs along a natural crack on beautiful and solid rock with a technical and elegant climb mostly on vertical walls with crimps.
The route was opened in 1933 by G. Dimai, C. Degasper, G. Ghedina and A. Verzi and is a classic of the Ampezzo basin. It is one of the longest itineraries at the Cinque Torri, always exposed, fun and diverse all the way to the top of the tower.
The Diretta Dimai climbing route unfolds in seven lengths, for an elevation gain of 150 meters, among traverses, overhangs, cracks, and chimneys, with VI+ maximum difficulty rating. The return is by climbing down with several double-rope rappels on the Normal route.
